About this Blog

Welcome!

This is a site about A Fine Frenzy discography, including unreleased songs descriptions. Some of these songs are previous to A Fine Frenzy, and therefore are from Alison Sudol solo career or first band (called Monro). Our purpose is to publicize Alison Sudol and A Fine Frenzy’s work. Unfortunately due to some recent leaks and althought we received a few new songs, we are no longer updating the unreleased studio section of the website, so if you have any doubts or comments you can contact us by email. (afinefrenzyfans.pt@gmail.com).

Thank you for visiting!

Missing on “Unreleased Songs and Demos”:
    – Redbird Calling (will probably appear on new album in 2011)
    – Lost Things (on stop-motion film by Angela Kohler & Ithyle Griffiths)

Yes, altought the “Unrealsed Songs and Demos” is for the rare unrealesed songs or demos. The team is thinking to creat a new section to rare songs and include those (Lost Things and Redbird Calling) in the section of Unrealesed Songs.

    Hey :)
First of all I wanna say that I absolutely love this site, it’s so adorable!
And I have an addition, too: I’m not sure, but I think, her song, “Silent War”, is missing in your archive…and it’s such a beautiful song. I think you could only get it, when buying her album “Bomb In A Birdcage” on iTunes.

    Again, love the blog ♥

Hereunder you’ll find the lyrics of Silent War which is one of my favorite AFF songs. There is just one uncertain line. I have asked Alison about. She asked me which song it concerns, but then never replied with the correct words :(

    Stifling, this day is stifling
You’re sprawled out like a king
On the sheets of my queen-sized bed

And I’m too hot to lie beside,
    possessed of idle mind.
this calm is a false friend.

    Jealousy, I suspect jealousy.
    Something is changing me
Real slow from the inside out.

It seems you mean too much to me,
    Too much for comfort, see.
The cause is the cure, now.

    We fought a silent war
In the hardware store and the air was thick as paint
Though I carried it on, I knew that I was wrong
But I fight when I’m afraid

And I come with guns a-blazing

Someone once (I forget who it was)
Said, “Do not think so much,
You can’t hear what your heart says.”

But it speaks, it tugs and puddle-leaps,
And bangs my ribs to pieces.
    Thoughts are the safe bet.

    We fought a silent war
In the hardware store and the air was thick as paint
Though I carried it on, I knew that I was wrong
But I fight when I’m afraid

    My guns will come a-blazing,
A lesser man would be afraid

And Oh, how you raze me, oh, to the ground.
And love, oh you brought me down
    [next line not sure]
with the sun of the ?? as you went out.
    [alternative]
with the sound of the shaming as you went out

The cause is the cure, now.

    We fought a silent war
In the hardware store and the air was thick as paint
Though I carried it on, I knew that I was wrong
But I fight when I’m afraid

    With guns I come a-blazing,
A lesser man would break free.
“I’m sorry” ‘s all I meant to say.

    Hi Andreas!
I think I can make a correction to your lyrics..
I hear “A lesser man would be afraid” during some of her performances.

      Hi Hailey,
thanks a lot for your comment! Read again and you will notice that “A lesser man would be afraid” is already part of the text.
The line that I was not sure is in fact:
“With the sound of the shaming as you went out”
Maybe there are some other faults in the text and I hoped so that Ali would correct me….
      PS: don’t you tweet anymore?

Hello, I saw your new layout (Beautiful by the way) And I was wondering if those are recent pictures of Alison. Because momentarily, I was thinking “did she dye her hair back blonde” But these also could’ve been old pictures.

Hello. I haven’t been all the way through the site yet, but I noticed that you didn’t have “Love Sick” yet. It’s a beautiful song. :)

This is a great blog! Are you planning on making a section with links to articles and interviews with Alison Sudol? There are a lot of good ones out there.
